Going "Home"

I knew this day would come sooner or later, and I was always hoping it would be much, much later. We took our last international flight (for now) back to the United States. I don’t want to say back “home”, because frankly I don’t really feel that we have one of those just yet. But, luckily we had friends visiting us in Costa Rica who left the same day as us and made leaving a little more fun.

We spent a few nights in Michigan repacking our gear and doing a little car maintenance before setting out on a month long road trip across the US. We visited a lot of family, friends old and new, and still managed to squeeze in another spur-of-the-moment flight to Seattle! Yes, by the time we drove out west we were already missing the skies, so we used a few more miles and 4 more free hotel nights and took a trip to Seattle, WA from Denver.

Of course now that we’re “back” in the US, the main question we’re being asked is, “Where are you going to live?” We’re working on that :) We haven’t had the chance to really even process the last 11 months before jumping back into the lives of our friends and family and catching up on...well, life. Keep following along and we’ll let you know! For now, we have one more little trip planned in the US and then who knows.

While I’m looking forward to eventually being in one place for a little more time, and to have the opportunity to unpack things completely, I know I’ll miss this lifestyle soon enough. Our lives have changed so much over the last 11 months, and we’ve adapted to so many different cultures and languages, that it feels a little weird to be “back” sometimes. It’s just all part of this great adventure of life!
